Dairyland Power Cooperative has donated $14,157 to the Alma Volunteer Fire Department following Dairyland’s 3rd Annual John P. Madgett (JPM) Charitable Golf Outing earlier this summer. As local first responders, the department supports Dairyland’s Alma Site in the event of fire or emergency.
“At Dairyland, safety is our highest priority and our local first responders play an essential role in protecting both our team and the broader community,” said President and CEO Brent Ridge. “We are proud to support the Alma Volunteer Fire Department and value their dedication to keeping our local communities safe.”

The funds raised will complete the fire department’s multi-year campaign to purchase its first UTV. This addition to their fleet will significantly enhance firefighting and rescue operations in Buffalo County’s rugged terrain, while also strengthening mutual aid support for neighboring departments.
“I am amazed by the participation and support from Dairyland and appreciate everything they have offered and given to us,” said Fire Chief Tom Brakke. “We have been limited in the past because of our lack of equipment. Without donations like this, it is hard to upgrade equipment to support our efforts within the community.”
