Leaders in Eau Claire County are at a loss for words over a proposed halfway house for sex offenders near the Town of Fairchild. Folks from Fairchild turned out last night to once again say they don’t want the county to use some county-owned land to build a facility for violent offenders.
But the county’s lawyer, Rick Eaton says the county has to meet its ‘statutory burden.’ County board members insist that they have not made any decisions yet.
