The governor named 2025 “The Year of the Kid” in his seventh annual State of the State Address last night. Evers is calling for various investments to help bring down the cost of child care, provide free school meals, and expand youth mental health support in public schools. The governor also touched on the recent school shooting in Madison, asking for bipartisan support from Republican lawmakers in adopting some gun safety regulations.
