We Energies Approve Rate Hike

Your We Energies bill is going up about 20 dollars a-month over the next two years.

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission yesterday approved an eight or nine dollar per-month increase for We Energies next year, and a nine or 10 dollar per-month increase for the year-after that. That’s lower than the 12 dollar per-month rate hike that We Energies was asking for. But watchdogs like the Citizens Utility Board say it’s still too much for struggling families. We Energies says it needs the extra money to cover the costs of shifting to green energy. The new rate hikes will be the ninth in the past 13 years for We Energies.
