Suspects In Custody Following Shooting Incident in Fairchild

On Sunday, September 29th, 2024, at approximately 7:32 P.M. the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident in the 100 block of Park St., Village of Fairchild, Eau Claire County. Multiple callers had contacted the communications center advising that there was a subject with a gun outside of a residence, a round had been fired, the armed suspect had pushed someone into the residence while still armed with the firearm and had threatened to kill the victim. 

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of Altoona Police Department, Augusta Police Department, Fairchild Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Osseo Police Department responded to the residence. Upon arrival at the residence, contact was made with numerous individuals and it was reported that no one had been injured by the gunfire. Shortly after arriving on scene, two suspects were taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, two firearms were located at the scene and it was learned that one had been fired during the incident. 

The two suspects were eventually transported to the Eau Claire County Jail. They were booked in on a variety of charges including Endangering safety – reckless use of weapon, Endangering safety -armed while intoxicated, Possession of a firearm by felon, Kidnapping, Intimidation of witness, and Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
