YMCA Invites Public to MOVE

Staying active is easier—and more fun—when you move together. This summer, community members of all ages and fitness levels are invited to join the MOVE Chippewa Valley Challenge, a free, 12‑week movement challenge designed to inspire healthier habits through shared motivation and simple weekly goals.

Beginning May 17 and running through August 8, 2026, participants are encouraged to move 150 minutes per week, totaling 12 weeks of activity. Every minute counts—whether you’re walking, stretching, swimming, lifting, dancing, playing, or trying something new.

All movement counts. All people are welcome. And participation in the challenge is completely free. “Getting 150 minutes of movement each week is one of the most effective ways to support both physical and mental health, but we know consistency can be hard to maintain alone. This 12‑week challenge is designed to help people build a sustainable habit—because research and experience tell us it takes time, repetition, and support to make movement part of everyday life,” shared Kara Goossens, Chippewa Falls MCA Executive Director.
