A new chairman is in place on the Chippewa County Board after the former chairman resigned following a scandal.
The board selected former Vice Chair Leigh Darrow yesterday to serve the remainder of Jared Zwiefelhofer’s term. Records show the former chair and Bloomer Police Chief used his department issued AR-style weapon to illegally shoot a deer outside of gun season last November. He was cited for several charges and resigned as chair.
