Nursing Profession Faces Shortages

Nursing Profession Faces Shortages

There is a warning about a pending lack of nurses in Wisconsin.

The state’s Department of Workforce Development on Friday said it expects Wisconsin to be short nearly 20 thousand nurses by 2040. DWD says the numbers could be as low as 12 thousand nurses, but the agency is worried nonetheless. DWD says the shortage is being caused by a growth in medical care, and a lack of qualified nurses to fill the new jobs that are opening up.
