It’s going to take some time to get a new plan for the future of the University of Wisconsin.
The Legislative Council Study Committee on the Future of the University of Wisconsin System held its first meeting yesterday, and said it will take into next year at the least to get any recommendations for change. The committee is looking at the demographic trends that will impact the UW over the next several years, as well as looking at what the university needs. Former UW Regent Scott Beightol yesterday said the university may need reforms. He said the UW has a history of reforms, and said it looks like the university is ripe for reform right now.
