Wisconsin tart cherry growers have until June 15, 2024 to submit their vote to elect two new members to the five-member Wisconsin Cherry Board.
No nominations were received by the original March 29, 2024 nomination period deadline or by the April 19, 2024 extended deadline. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is proceeding with the election with no nominated candidates listed on the ballot. Eligible growers are encouraged to write in the names of two affected cherry growers to serve on the board.
DATCP mailed ballots to cherry producers the week of May 10, 2024. Producers with questions or who have not received a ballot by May 20 can contact DATCP’s Market Orders Program at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov. Completed ballots must be emailed or mailed to DATCP, Market Orders Program, PO Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708 and postmarked on or before June 15, 2024.
The elected producers will serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2027.
