On March 25, 2024, at 1:40 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a tip from the State School Tip Line Speak up Speak Out regarding a possible threat at the Prairie Farm School. School was not in session and school administration were contacted about the threat.
Deputies immediately started an investigation into the anonymous threat. As a result of the investigation, including interviews and review of phone data, the subject of the threat was interviewed and the tip was not true.
The Sheriff’s Department will be in the area of the Prairie Farm School this week with a heavier presence to ease any fears that this caused. Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding harm to others to reach out to the Sheriff’s Department to report it to determine if it is a valid threat.
