The City of Janesville may be purchasing the old General Motors plant.
City Council is scheduled to meet on Monday to discuss a relocation order that would give the city ownership. City Manager Kevin Lahner says there will have to be cleanup efforts before any work happens, since the site is contaminated. It would be months before the plant became city property and years before construction begins.
