Transit Equity Day Celebrates Rosa Parks

In celebration of Transit Equity Day, which takes place on Rosa Parks’ birthday, Eau Claire Transit Bus Operators are paying for bus rides for all passengers on Monday, February 5.

“…everyone deserves safe, reliable, affordable, and clean transit.”

“Transit Equity Day is a day for us to come together to remember the spark that ignited a movement when Rosa Parks made history by refusing to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama,” said Nathan Nispel, President/Business Agent of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1310, representing Eau Claire Transit Bus Operators. “Like Rosa, we believe that public transit is a civil right. That means everyone deserves safe, reliable, affordable, and clean transit. We honor her legacy by giving our passengers free rides on Eau Claire Transit buses on February 5.”
