The young man who police claim hit a 19-year-old in Fond du Lac on New Year’s Eve after she crashed her car is looking at 15-years in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors yesterday filed formal charges against 19-year-old Jatziel Encarnacion. Investigators say he reportedly was drunk when he left a party early on New Year’s Eve morning, and hit a young woman who’d been tossed out of her car because of a separate crash. The D.A. is not charging Encarnacion with her death because there’s not enough evidence to show she was still alive when police say Encarnacion hit her. He is being charged for dragging her body for three miles, as well as drunk driving and other charges.
