The Universities of Wisconsin System are asking for 32-million dollars to make up for money being cut by the state legislature.
UW says the money will be used to increase engineering, nursing, data science, business, and finance student development, adding at least 9,300 graduates in five years. Republican lawmakers cut the universities budget by the same amount in June, the amount they said UW would spend on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. The proposal will go the Board of Regents Thursday.
