A bill is being considered at the Wisconsin State Capitol that would name a stretch of I-90 after Wisconsin’s Native American code talkers.
Code talkers used their tribal languages for secret communication during wartime to help the U.S. Army during World Wars I and II. The bill would dedicate a stretch of I-90 between La Crosse and Tomah after the infamous code talkers, naming it the “Ho-Chunk World War II Code Talkers Memorial Highway.”
