Mayo Clinic Health System — Oakridge, 700 Buffalo Street in Mondovi, will offer mammography screening at the Mayo Mobile Mammography Unit on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Early detection saves lives. The earlier breast cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat. A mammogram is a screening tool that detects cancer before symptoms start.
Screening will be available to women who are age 40 and over. A mammogram screening usually takes approximately 30 minutes. Participants also can learn more about breast cancer prevention.
Those who do not have insurance coverage for a screening mammogram may be eligible for free screening through the Wisconsin Well Woman Program. The program helps Wisconsin women ages 40 to 64 who have little or no health insurance get screened for breast and cervical cancers. Applications are available at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mondovi or by calling 608-785-9872 to see if you qualify for support.
