Dairyland Curdles in Hot Temps

It is going to be dangerously hot across the Chippewa Valley today.

The National Weather Service says the advisory goes into effect at noon today, and runs til 8 p.m. tonight. Forecasters are warning of temperatures in the 90s and a heat index above 100. The Weather Service says today is a good day to stay inside if you can, and drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks if you can’t. The advisory goes as far south as Madison, and as far north as St. Croix Falls.

Eau Claire is looking to beat the heat by offering free rides to the city’s homeless shelter. The city said Metro Transit buses will be free today because of the high heat.

Haven House will also open for anyone who doesn’t have a place to stay, or the people who need to get out of the heat. Haven House is usually closed on Thursdays.
