NHL player and Eau Claire native Michael Kapla is coming back to the northern Midwest.
Yesterday, Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton announced the 24-year-old had been acquired from the New Jersey Devils in a trade for defenseman Ryan Murphy. Kapla has played a majority of his career in the lower-level American Hockey League but debuted in the NHL in 2017 and has played in a handful of games. He’s tallied 16 points in 45 games in the AHL this season.
