Wisconsin’s Republican U.S. Senator wants to make sure the Biden Administration isn’t using a new voter access initiative to play politics.
Senator Ron Johnson was one of 14 Republican senators to sign a letter yesterday to President Biden, pressing for more information about the president’s Promoting Access to Voting executive order. Johnson and the other senators said everyone agrees that ‘increased voter participation is a good thing,’ but he’s worried that the Biden Administration will use the program for ‘clandestine voter mobilization and election-turnout operations.’ Johnson says the federal government should not be picking one side in its get out the vote efforts.
