Milwaukee County’s conservative supervisor doesn’t want to spend local dollars on the Brewers’ ballpark.
A county committee on Monday unanimously rejected the idea of a local buy-in to help fix and maintain American Family Field. Supervisor Steve Taylor said the county got stuck during the negotiations over a new arena for the Bucks, he doesn’t want to get stuck again. Republican lawmakers at the Capitol are demanding that Milwaukee and Milwaukee County pay at least a part of the 300 million-dollars the Brewers need to keep the Brewers’ ballpark up to date. Taylor says there’s plenty of time to talk about a mutually-agreeable solution.
