City leaders say the damage at Eau Claire’s soccer park could delay soccer season.
Police say someone drove through the soccer fields over the weekend, doing donuts and leaving huge tire tracks across the fields. Parks manager Steve Plaza says the damage left the fields unsafe for soccer players. Plaza says park crews will now have to dig up the damage, lay some sod, and hope the roots take before soccer season starts in a few weeks. He says the time they spend doing that also takes away from the time they should be spending getting other parks ready for the warm weather.
