Wisconsin’s Democratic U.S. Senator is asking for answers about the bird flu.
Senator Tammy Baldwin yesterday signed a letter to the USDA, pressing for more information about the avian flu. Baldwin and several other senators say the bird flu has killed nearly 60 million birds in 47 states, including Wisconsin. Their letter says the bird flu has had a direct impact on the spike in the price of eggs. Baldwin says the USDA has plenty of money, and wants the agency to use some of it to mitigate the effects of the flu in the nation’s flocks.
