Democratic Governor Tony Evers and Republican legislative leaders are split on the issue of Medicaid expansion. Evers has pledged to expand Medicaid in Wisconsin in his first budget proposal. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos have both called the move a “nonstarter” for Republicans in the Legislature.
Former Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Democratic U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are in a Twitter fight. The two got into a dispute yesterday over marginal tax rates. Ocasio-Cortez is proposing a 70 percent marginal tax rate that would only apply to a person’s income above ten million dollars.
