The lawmaker who led Wisconsin’s look into the problems and delays with professional licensing says he’s frustrated that he never got any answers.
State Senator Rob Stafsholt wrapped-up his Study Committee on Occupational Licenses yesterday. He says he wanted to know why so many people, from engineers to dental hygienists, are waiting so long for the state to process their license to work. He says the Department of Safety and Professional Services stonewalled his committee, and only provided ‘misleading’ answers to their questions. Stafsholt is recommending nine pieces of legislation to make changes to the state’s professional licensing system. There’s no word if the governor would sign any of them.
