WI Senator Chimes In on Railway Strike

Wisconsin’s Republican U.S. Senator says he didn’t want to see Congress get involved in the back-and-forth between railroad companies and their unions.

Senator Ron Johnson yesterday said he doesn’t like to see the government meddle in private businesses, but he also said Congress could not sit back and allow a national railroad strike to cripple the country. Johnson voted for the legislation to keep railroad workers on the job. He said he would have preferred if Democrats hadn’t played politics with the matter, and instead insisted the unions and railroads work it out among themselves.
