Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Preston Cole is stepping down.
Governor Tony Evers announced on Friday that Cole will retire next Wednesday after a 35-year public service career. Cole has led the Department of Natural Resources for the past four years. Before Evers appointed him director in 2018, Cole served on the state’s Natural Resources Board, which sets policy for the DNR.
