Sentencing Begins Today in Waukesha

Sentencing begins today for the man convicted of killing six people and injuring dozens at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin last year.

Darrell Brooks drove his SUV through the parade in the Milwaukee suburb on November 21st.  He’ll be sentenced for six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, which carries a mandatory life sentence in Wisconsin.  The judge has discretion on 70 other charges and will make a decision after three-dozen victims and family members have a chance to speak in court.  After having represented himself during his trial, Brooks now faces six consecutive life sentences plus more than 850 years in prison.
