The Waukesha Christmas Parade suspect didn’t say anything during opening arguments in his trial yesterday.
Darrell Brooks Jr. was disruptive and argumentative yesterday, just as he has been everyday of the trial. But he didn’t offer an opening statement to the jury. Prosecutors opened their case yesterday, saying Brooks intentionally sped through the parade crowd because he was on the run from the police. Prosecutors say they’re not going to overwhelm the jury, but did promise to focus on the deadliest part of the parade. The trial is expected to take about a month.
