The passion of a local entrepreneur is coming to life downtown.
Chris Johnson is the owner of Passion Board Shop and host the popular podcast/radio show the Passion Pod, and also a city official on the Parks and Waterways Commission. Johnson has been working on a new project for the city of Eau Claire for over a year now that was recently built.
The idea is to construct action sports features to be placed around our city on the bike trail system. Similar to the idea of having “work out stations” such as pull up bars in various locations around town for the public to use. These features will be constructed intentionally for the public to use for skateboarding, biking, scootering, roller skating, and more.
The first feature that Johnson designed, chose the location for, and was able to get approved by both the Parks and Waterways Commission as well as the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) was constructed over the last couple of days and will be ready for use soon.
This is the first project of this kind in the area and hopefully the first of a dozen or more of these types of features to be constructed in the coming years.
