The new UW president says he’s going to keep the university’s tuition freeze in place.
Incoming President Jay O. Rothman yesterday said he’s recommending that undergrad tuition remain flat next year. Tuition for in-state students at the University of Wisconsin has remained the same for the past 15 years or so, mostly because of a lawmaker-imposed tuition freeze at the school. The legislature ended that freeze last year, and so far, the school has not raised tuition prices.
Rothman also says he wants to work on diversity at the UW, and enroll more students of color.
