There could be a vote coming on a new alert in Wisconsin.
Chippewa Valley state Rep. Jesse James this week filed a draft of legislation to create a Lily Alert in the state. A Lily Alert would cover local cases of missing children where there’s not enough for a statewide AMBER Alert. It’s named after Lily Peters, the 10-year-old Chippewa Falls girl who was murdered back in April. Her dad knew she was missing, but police said there wasn’t enough for an AMBER Alert. James’ plan likely won’t be voted on until next year.
