Wisconsin can close the books on nine environmental lawsuits.
The legislature’s Joint Finance Commission yesterday agreed to settle all nine cases. The payouts are not large, they total just 378 thousand-dollars. The cases were brought against farms, a waste solutions company, and the city of Elkhart. State law requires the legislature to okay any settlement of any lawsuit brought by the state attorney general’s office.
