Milwaukee’s mayor says the six-million-dollar demand from the city’s common council to host the RNC is a ‘poison pill’ and a ‘non-starter’ with him.
The city council last week delayed a vote on the agreement that could land Milwaukee the Republican National Convention in 2024 and demanded that the city get something in return for hosting the convention. Mayor Cavalier Johnson says that demand cannot happen, and said it looks to be designed to kill the city’s chances of hosting the RNC. Milwaukee has until the end of this week to approve that agreement.
