Prosecutors say the motive for the killing of two people at the UW Arboretum back in 2020 was simple. They say the suspect hated the victims.
Prosecutors began their case against Khari Sanford yesterday by explaining that he hated his former girlfriend’s parents because they did not approve of his relationship with their daughter. Police say that hatred led Sanford to kidnap and then murder Beth Potter and her husband Robin Carre. Sanford’s lawyers say their client is just a kid, and was dealing with ‘typical teenage angst in a very atypical time.’
The trial is set to continue today.
