UW-Madison’s new chancellor isn’t saying much about opposition from Republican lawmakers.
Jennifer Mnookin spoke with reporters yesterday, but didn’t have any answers for questions about Republicans who said she is a ‘ridiculous choice’ to lead the campus. Mnookin said she’s waiting to get to Madison later this summer and meet with everyone. State Senator Steve Nass this week said Republicans in the legislature see Mnookin’s appointment as a message, and said the legislature may look to withhold some money from the university.
UW Regent Karen Walsh told reporters that she doesn’t take that threat seriously.
