Eau Claire Fire Department units were dispatched for a fire alarm this morning at 800 Wisconsin St, Banbury Place building 13.
While en route the Eau Claire Communication Center advised a report of smoke on the 2nd floor and dispatched a first alarm assignment, Engine 2, Engine 10, Truck 5, Truck 9, Medic 10, Battalion 1 and Chief 2. Engine 2 was first on location and reported smoke on division 2. Upon further investigation it was found a fire had occurred in one of the businesses and was put out by the sprinkler system.
Crews worked to check for any fire extension, ventilate the building, and assist salvage efforts. ECFD Inspectors are conducting the scene investigation. There were no reports of injuries at the time of this report.
