Bird Flu Cases Continue to Climb in WI


Agriculture officials act to contain cases of avian flu around Wisconsin. 

Yesterday, the Department of Agriculture confirmed a second case in less than a month’s time of a domestic flock in Wisconsin becoming infected with the deadly virus from wild bird populations.  Doctor Keith Poulsen with the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory advises domestic bird owners to be watchful to avoid the spread from the wild to the domestic environment.  The lab’s Facebook page has more information on measures that can be taken to curb the spread of the bird flu.
