The city of Eau Claire is committing more money to the downtown transit transfer center project, as costs for the project have jumped since the pandemic began.
The Federal Transit Administration and the American Rescue Plan Act have provided more than nine-million dollars for the project. The city is now adding another 20 percent from other recovery funds to bring the total budget outlay to 11-million dollars. City officials say they hope to have the new facility completed sometime this year.
