The FBI says it’s the season for an uptick in cyber theft and fraud. Authorities across Wisconsin are advising online shoppers to protect themselves from becoming a victim.
Some tips provided by the FBI include not responding to unsolicited e-mail, not opening attachments from unknown senders and being aware that fraudsters tend to create a sense of urgency and want you to act quickly. Online scams and complaints can be filed with the internet crime complaint center at IC3-dot-gov.
