WE Energies will stop using coal for its power plants earlier than first planned.
The company yesterday said it will switch away from coal by 2035. WE Energies had previously said it would end its use of coal by 2050. The biggest change means the Oak Creek power plant will switch over to natural gas. WE Energies says it’s making the move to help the environment and get closer to its goal of zero carbon emissions by 2050.
