Governor Tony Evers and Democratic lawmakers are proposing a multimillion-dollar package to boost the state’s agricultural industry.
The governor says farmers have always been the backbone of the state and the package creates new programs to better bolster the workforce and support the mental health of farmers and their families. The 25-million-dollar package includes 20-million-dollars to help Wisconsin food banks purchase food directly from Wisconsin producers. An additional 400-thousand-dollars would be used to expand the farm-to-school program.
