Therapy dogs are helping veterans at Klein Hall in Chippewa Falls.
President Biden signed a law requiring the Department of Veteran Affairs to create a five-year program that will provide service dogs and training to veterans with PTSD. A Klein Hall supervisor says their therapy dog is able to sense when a veteran is going through an issue and is seen as a staff member. The National Service Animal Registry reports the average cost of a service dog is between 15 and 30-thousand dollars.
