Governor Tony Evers wants to spend 130-million dollars of the state’s stimulus cash to help get people back to work.
After weeks of defending Wisconsin’s extra unemployment payments, the governor yesterday said something must be done to get people back into the workforce. Most of the money is either going towards grants or subsidized jobs. Republicans at the Wisconsin Capitol say if the governor really wants to help get people back to work, he should end the enhanced federal unemployment benefits in the state.
