UW Students Not Spreaders

The coronavirus outbreak at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was mostly contained to the school’s dorms.

A new CDC-backed study says there is no evidence that students spread the virus to the rest of Madison and Dane County. Researchers say most of the cases were contained in just two dorms. The university locked those dorms down last September, and the study says that likely stopped a larger outbreak. Local leaders in Madison and Dane County last year said students were responsible for spreading the virus, and they wanted the school to close and send students home.
