Wisconsin fell below 200-thousand coronavirus doses administered for the first time since late January.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said last week’s total dose distribution came to just under 194-thousand doses. The last time Wisconsin handed-out that small of a number was during the third week of January. Wisconsin’s weekly dose peak was in early April, with over 424-thousand doses handed-out. As far as messages from the capital, no one in Wisconsin is going to be forced to get the coronavirus vaccine.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday told the Racine Journal Times yesterday that getting the shot will always be someone’s choice. Evers said he doesn’t see Wisconsin requiring the vaccine, in fact he says he doesn’t see any state in the country requiring them. Wisconsin’s coronavirus vaccinations have fallen sharply since their peak in early-April. Public health managers aren’t sure the state will hit its 70-percent-vaccinated goal.
