The Democrats who will help write Wisconsin’s state budget say the state’s three billion-dollars in stimulus money should be off-limits.
State Senator Jon Erpenbach yesterday said the stimulus money ‘has nothing to do with’ the state budget that lawmakers are currently writing. Erpenbach said he’d like to know how Governor Evers intends to spend the stimulus money, but he says he’s not looking to spend any of it on the state’s day-to-day needs. Governor Evers has said he should have details about where the money will go in a few weeks. Republicans at the Capitol wanted to spend the stimulus money on tax rebates and state debt.
