Eau Claire is going to lose money collecting yard scraps, even with higher fees.
The city council last night agreed to take over brush collections this year. It will cost 116-thousand-dollars to run the program for 30 weeks. Community Services Director Renee Tyler says the city expects to lose about 50-thousand-dollars in the process. You’re going to have to pay a bit more for collections as bag fees are going up 50 cents to a dollar-per-bag. You can also buy a season pass for 45 bucks.
