The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin will move to closing arguments next week. Judge Peter Cahill addressed the jury after both sides finished presenting evidence.
Chauvin himself chose not to testify today in the case where he’s accused of killing George Floyd. The judge reminded jurors that it’s up to them on how long they deliberate on the charges against Chauvin. He’s charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
Judge Cahill reminded the jury that they’re in control.
