Restoration of one of the most prominent landmarks in La Crosse is underway. St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral has served the people of the Coulee Region, and the Diocese of La Crosse, since its dedication on May 14, 1962. The past sixty years have taken their toll, so now is the time for an exterior and interior overhaul to bring the Cathedral back to its original magnificence.
Join Bishop William Patrick Callahan on Friday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m., as he blesses the beginning of the restoration work. “The St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral is the Mother Church for our Diocese and represents the spiritual home for so many people in La Crosse. It’s a place of pilgrimage and refuge for the entire Diocese,” says Bishop Callahan. “Under the protection of St. Joseph, whose year we are presently celebrating, we ask for a safe and swift completion of this restoration project.”
